Employee Campaign Coordinator Spotlight: Reed Carlson

At United Way of Central Illinois, our success depends on the dedication and passion of Employee Campaign Coordinators (ECCs) who bring workplace campaigns to life. Today, we’re excited to highlight one of our new ECCs, Reed Carlson, Senior Accountant at Sikich.

Reed's Journey to United Way
Although this is Reed’s first year as an ECC, his enthusiasm is evident. Only two years removed from college, Reed was approached by colleagues who had previously served as ECCs at Sikich. Their experiences resonated with him, and he saw it as the perfect opportunity to get involved early in supporting the community.

“I’ve always enjoyed giving back,” Reed shares. “While in college, I worked with several local nonprofits, and I wanted to continue that involvement. Supporting an organization like United Way, which is dedicated to helping those in need, was an easy decision for me.”

Teamwork Makes a Campaign Successful
For Reed, one of the most crucial elements of running a successful campaign is the support of his team. “We have a great group of leaders who have been supportive of United Way for many years. They lead by example and rally everyone when needed.” With strong backing from the Sikich team, Reed is confident about reaching their campaign goals and making an impact in the community.

Excitement for the Journey Ahead
As a first-time ECC, Reed is eager to learn and make a difference. He’s looking forward to collaborating with other ECCs and receiving valuable insights from those with more experience.

“I'm excited to dive in and see what we can achieve together. Supporting United Way and their mission is something I’m proud to be a part of.”

Reed’s passion for community engagement and his commitment to making a positive difference exemplify the spirit of United Way. We’re grateful to have him on board as an ECC and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll help create this year!
